Helping older people to live independently
Do you have a view about how older people should be helped to live independently in their own homes? If so, please take part in a short survey about the support available. The survey is open to everyone in Lincolnshire, regardless of age or whether they have contact with an older person. To take part, visit www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/supporting_independence before 1 March.
Say No to Violence and Abuse
Victims of domestic abuse are being targeted by a county-wide campaign encouraging them to speak up. Operation NOVA – which stands for No to Violence and Abuse – was launched this week by Lincolnshire Police and the county council. It aims to highlight what support is available to victims. You can find out more about domestic abuse and the help available at www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/domesticabuse
Community champions to tackle anti-social behaviour
Local people are to be given training to help them challenge anti-social behaviour in their neighbourhoods. It builds on the Government’s Community Crime Fighters Programme, which has recruited and trained nearly 4000 members of the public to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour. It’s being supported by a major campaign, which gets underway this week, to give 10 million households across the country the information they need to take a stand.
