Consultation
Staff, volunteers and committee members represent LAPD on several consultation groups.
Some of the groups we have worked with over recent years are Lincolnshire County Council, Equality & Access Group, Lincoln Hospital Users Group, Access Groups across the county, and various other groups.
By working together hopefully we keep disability on the agenda and can influence statutory organisations and the private sector when delivering their services.
Disability Awareness in Schools
The LAPD has been delivering Disability Awareness in Schools for 15 years, in this time we have developed the programme and now cover several disabilities.
All our volunteers have experience of disability and present workshops in senior schools across Lincolnshire.
We normally present to year 7 (11 year olds).
Boston office, led by Claire Sheldrake deliver a comprehensive disability awareness programme to junior schools in the Boston area.
Feed back and evaluation of these days are very positive, with year on year bookings.
